U2charist at St. Peter's, Monroe, Ct

by The Rev Kurt Huber, Rector

β€œIt feels like God walking through the room, and it feels like a blessing, and in the end, music is a kind of sacrament.” – Bono

The U2charist is an Episcopal Eucharist service that features the music of the band U2, and a message about God's call to rally around the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).  The music in this service is replete with the message of global reconciliation, justice for the poor and oppressed, and the importance of caring for your neighbor, particularly the most vulnerable and in need.

Led by the Global MDG ambassador, Bono, U2 is calling people worldwide to a deeper faith and engagement with God's mission. The U2charist seeks to be an extension of this ministry.   Our U2charist will take place on Sunday, February 3 at 10:15 AM on "Souper" Bowl Sunday.

We will once again participate in the “Souper” Bowl Sunday on February 3 at both services and join thousands of congregations to battle hunger in the “Souper Bowl of Caring.”  There will be soup pots for donations, which will go to support the Calvary/St. George’s Community Suppers and all canned food received will be donated to the Family Matters Food Pantry, both in Bridgeport.  Together we can help feed those who hunger this winter.
